Coup De Tarte -9- New Views (Updated 8/28/24)

 

After many were jellied
The Pieman was content
Yet he did not convey
The pie-jelly relationship
For he might even wait 
Until the roll-out campaign
Where prideful cakes would finally see
What's under pie crust to their shame

But his concerns would soon change
As the plan would move forward
For pies and cakes would integrate
And see what the other had more of
But equity wasn't the dream
Just a convenient distraction
The mission was equality
To give pies their own mansions

Yet pies are still taboo
And jellied cakes will be too
Unless he changes what cakes think
Of the Pieman and his food
The only thing that he can think
Is to change what they perceive
Yeah he jellied some of the cakes
But what else can be conceived

He couldn't think of anything new
But he knew what needed to be done
He would correct cakes and their views
By altering what they have in vision

He remembered what he had posted
And how words can be misspoken
And typos weren't out of the ordinary
At least that's what he was hoping 

 

So he went back to the computer 
And he would soon hone his focus

On a not-so-new idea 
And a familiar slogan *

"I'll just add the adjoining phrase
"'Cakes With Pie Jelly...Coming soon'"
The chicken or the egg

Perhaps no one will notice
The quoting or what I do 

Besides it will be the same print
The same image and the same tune
But with a few sprinkled pies
Placed within the all-inclusive cake tableau" *

With no time to waste
He made his way to every poster
And would subtly replace 
The images that he'd quickly tape over 

 

Then he disappeared for a while
Because he wasn't sure what to do
So he decided to take a break
For a Caramel Butter Bundt Cake rendezvous 

 

It was a nice reprieve 
But he knew it wouldn't last
He'd have to find a new Bundt cake

One without such a messy past 

 

But it was a delightful experience
That helped to ease his mind *
Now what to do for these cakes
With the day's remaining time *

Now what other changes *
Could I immediately make
That would change baked mindsets
Or at least influence these cakes 

To influence what these cakes speak
I have to control what these cakes see
So instead of The Spirit of Cake Channel
They'll be watching Pie, Meets Cakery * 

Over time this should affect positive change *

As long as I target the troublesome cakes

I'll rearrange them in front of the TVs

And watch as their fears turn into fantasies

They'll come to love pies
For everything that they do
From how they sit at pie bars
To how pie servers bend at the grooves

They'll come to love pies 
For their consistent passion

There's no seamly surprises

Nor crumby ways worth the mention *

 

They'll come to love pies
For they're healthy and dynamic
They're filled with fruity goodness
And textures most cakes couldn't manage 

 

They'll come to love pies 
For they symbolize love, union and comfort
Whereas cakes are concerned 
With titillating those in great numbers

 

They'll come to love pies 
For their hardy natures
You can take them on picnics
While cakes would need a container

 

They'll come to love pies 
For their homogenous composition
Their pleasure curve lasts longer

And they have a minimalist disposition 

They'll come love pies for many reasons

But they'll love them because of me

It won't be because of the Caker

Nor the abundance of his cream *

For cakes are used to celebrations

Not comforting those in need

They'd rather see pies in carnivals

Rather than servicing the elderly

 

But hopefully that will all change

When they see what's on TV

For it won't be sprinkles and birthday candles *

But cake and pie camaraderie
