Finding Calvin Part. 1 - 7 - A Pruning Process
With an invite to tea
And conversational antics
The Jelly Man's intrigued
With the guest list that's attending
So with deft subtlety
He'll spread more thoughts he's abetted
As a contingency
For the trial that's impending
Amidst glossing and cream
He's a formidable hedging
Between his jelly dream
And the sprinkles he's been spreading
For separation's key
In his crafty understanding
But who's to be received
Mestuffstuffstoplease, B, or Calvin
[...]
It was organic tea
According to Tom
And of the mushroom variety
Which B thought was rather odd
According to Tom
And of the mushroom variety
Which B thought was rather odd
Now on his second cup
And there's still no Mr. Lamington
While they're gathered on Tom's patio
Overlooking some pedestrians
And there's still no Mr. Lamington
While they're gathered on Tom's patio
Overlooking some pedestrians
[Mestuffstoplease]
When will Mr. Lamington be here
[Tom]
Oh, I didn't know Mr. Lamington was coming
[Dave]
Yeah, he said that he wanted to partake
[Tom]
Interesting
[Dave]
We should go to the waterfront pavilion
[Tom]
We should leave soon then
[...]
As they walked toward the waterfront
Mestuffstoplease saw a gay man
Haughtily walking with his dog
Mestuffstoplease saw a gay man
Haughtily walking with his dog
When a strange thought occurred to him
[Mestuffstoplease]
Isn't it strange how we enslave other beings
[...]
Dave started to laugh
While Tom started to talk
He said something startling
Something a bit off
While Tom started to talk
He said something startling
Something a bit off
[Tom]
B, or Calvin
Whatever happens
Whatever happens
The mushrooms will wear off
And we'll still be your friends
And we'll still be your friends
[...]
As they walked across the gangway
To the small secluded ocean sight
He could hear his own footsteps
As if it were for the very first time
They posted up on the parapet
Looking at the ocean and the clouds
No one spoke for a minute
Or it could have been for quite a while
Looking at the ocean and the clouds
No one spoke for a minute
Or it could have been for quite a while
They heard crisp footsteps
Now crossing the gangway
It was an elderly couple
Now crossing the gangway
It was an elderly couple
Nothing too concerning
As they continued to stare
At the ocean's skyline
He looked over at the newcomers
And heard words he didn't like
He looked over at the newcomers
And heard words he didn't like
[Woman]
What is he on?
[Man]
Shrooms
[Mestuffstoplease]
We should go
[...]
Tom and Dave agreed
And they walked away cautiously
And soon they'd see a flamingo
Walking beside them on the street
And they walked away cautiously
And soon they'd see a flamingo
Walking beside them on the street
He thought he could probably pet it
But he didn't feel the need
But he didn't feel the need
He was too focused on just being
As his being told him he should be
As his being told him he should be
As they walked by a flower median
Mestuffstoplease was a bit confused
Mestuffstoplease was a bit confused
Why would they distract drivers
What an idiotic thing to do
What an idiotic thing to do
Then they saw a cop car
And knowing how they should act
Dave started to conversate
Something that was normal amongst a pack
And knowing how they should act
Dave started to conversate
Something that was normal amongst a pack
[Dave]
Everything is great
He's just driving by the street
Don't be a weirdo
Just follow my lead...
He's just driving by the street
Don't be a weirdo
Just follow my lead...
I'm going to talk now
Pretend to be intrigued
Besides possession is 9/10s of the law
According to what I read
Pretend to be intrigued
Besides possession is 9/10s of the law
According to what I read
[Mestuffstoplease]
We're dough
[Dave]
What
[Mestuffstoplease]
I thought they made fun of me
But they were saying we're dough
But they were saying we're dough
[Tom]
Do-nut say that
Butternut
Nut now
[Dave]
No, this is good
This is what people do...
This is what people do...
Yes, Calvin, we're dough
All of us
All of us
And we're molded
And put up for show
And put up for show
[...]
Calvin responded with silence
Observing his perceptions
Observing his perceptions
But he catalogued every sentence
As part of a greater lesson
As they make it to Tom's flat
Tom decides to watch a comedy flick
But the humor was disturbing
And they decided to switch it real quick
Tom decides to watch a comedy flick
But the humor was disturbing
And they decided to switch it real quick
He scrolled the channels slowly
As if pondering a food selection
He finally found a nature channel
That showed underwater creations
He finally found a nature channel
That showed underwater creations
They watched for a while
Then Tom voiced his frustration
He wanted it on silent
Then Tom voiced his frustration
He wanted it on silent
For he thought words ruined the interpretation
[Tom]
Words are ruining the interpretation
[...]
As Tom mutes the channel
They look on with imagination
While Mestuffstoplease finds the ceiling
And has a minor hallucination
Seemingly perched upon high
He cannot see his own design
But he sees a tall building and a sky
At a slightly taller height
Atop its rooftop were two birds
Seemingly looking at where he's perched
And at the edge of their rooftop scene
Was a grey-suited man facing East
Upon returning to reality
He's peering at a gold leafed bulbous being
He's peering at a gold leafed bulbous being
He ponders what it's hiding underneath
As it shines and spins around vigorously
Like the first onlooker of a tsunami
All of a sudden he feels the need
To leave the living room scene
And embrace for what's yet to be
He quickly finds the bathroom floor
And embraces the soldier's position
With his one foot he closes the door
And seizuristically pays attention
And embraces the soldier's position
With his one foot he closes the door
And seizuristically pays attention
As he lies in a paralytic state
He weeps controlled but uncontrollably
He hears Tom and Dave rush to his aid
While he hears Tom say to Dave
He hears Tom and Dave rush to his aid
While he hears Tom say to Dave
[Tom]
I want to see him when he wakes up
[...]
Mestuffstoplease locks eyes with Dave
As Dave hovers over his paralytic state
Mestuffstoplease felt a psychic pain
As he heard Tom say to Dave
As Dave hovers over his paralytic state
Mestuffstoplease felt a psychic pain
As he heard Tom say to Dave
[Tom]
He looks like he wants to kill you
[...]
Feeling the need to leave
He rushes to the street
Finding his blueberry Mercedes
He makes his way via side streets
Because he was in distress
He fixed a drink and Percocet
He'd soon pass out on his deck
With his legs slumped over a potted plant
The next morning at around eight
He wakes up to a text from Dave
He wants to talk of last night's escapades
At Mr. Lamington's favorite place
Though still a little woozy
He seizes the opportunity
And he'll meet Dave in the picnic space
At around quarter after three
As he reflected upon his night
And the thoughts that came to mind
He wondered who's truly inside
Beyond the personalities he's contrived
He doesn't see a lot of people
And there's no sign of Mr. Lamington
He starts to wonder about Dave
If he's as honest as he's been
Suddenly he sees Dave
Emerge from a parking space
And it seems he's brought a friend
As he appears with a Bundt cake date
As Dave approaches the entranceway
Seemingly gleefully for what's in play
He was snatched without breaking pace
Like a white hawk scooping up a snake
Mestuffstoplease moved around to see
But his view was blocked by shrubs and trees
So he paced forward reluctantly
Where Dave disappeared inexplicably
There was not a sign nor trace
Not even his dropped Bundt cake date
Was Mestuffstoplease seeing things
Or did an angel in white come for Dave
He looked around for a passerby
To corroborate his state of mind
Though idlers and vendors were in sight
None seemed fixated on his timeline
Because of its subtlety
He wasn't sure it wasn't the tea
Or it could indeed be reality
Or his delusionality
He pretends to be occupied
With a grandiose thought in mind
As he walks back to his ride
And recomposes his grip on life
As he's driving to his mansion
He sees a familiar sight
As he passes a church sign
"Love is in fashion and my God is light"
Feeling it struck a chord
He'd park and go inside
He heard music upon entering
And finds a pew lightly occupied
The music was entrancing
And they had the lyrics on a screen
He made attempts to follow along
With all the other people that he sees
He found the lyrics quite impactful
And subject to misinterpreting
Are they praising the crucifixion
Or the one that's hung upon the tree
This led to feelings quite disturbing
And exacerbated dual realities
Are they aware of this sickness
And the lyrics they're singing
He stopped singing and glanced about
And he felt like an illegal alien
But he's not sure of the music's impact
Or its subliminal messaging
As the preacher started speaking
If felt like it was directed towards him
Then he remembered the Matrix movie
And wondered if this is a simulation
But everything he said made sense
Except the whole crucifixion bit
Why wouldn't God just change the rules
Instead of crucifying his own kid
But the message was still clear
And sees the forgiveness as legit
And he knows the power of belief
And what you can truly do with it
And there was a pull inside
Something his mind couldn't sift
It led him to the front
When came the call to repentance
As the many trickled forward
He bowed just like the others did
And he said a prayer to Jesus
Led by his personal attendant
Then he was ushered to a room
As attendants shown the only way
Each embraced the many that were broken
Then served Angel cake topped with Apple Maze
What Calvin understood
Is that some grow up believing
And some fall off along the way
Losing all hope and future meaning *
It reminded him of blueberries
And how they contracted leaf diseases
Even leaf browning and leaf burning
From too many fertilizing agents
And how they contracted leaf diseases
Even leaf browning and leaf burning
From too many fertilizing agents
But life's a pruning process
And trees are no exception
Some branches overhang
And negate their shady blessing
He would consider himself a Christian
And he'd be open to receiving
But he wouldnt seek crucifixion
For he believes in true forgiving
He finally found inspiration
For his new jelly line creation
They'd be the Forgotten Rinds
In honor of Jesus' mission
He'd later hop on Google
And search for a brand of Christian
He really liked Calvinism
It sounded in line with his current vision
