Coup De Tarte -10- The Order Of Things (Updated 4/29/24)
Now the stage was set
And the Pieman left
For there was nothing
Left to do
For the plan ahead
Required time to pass
And for some cakes
To change their moods
As the next day came
The pies looked great
And the Chef and Caker
Thought so too
So next on the plate
Was to decide the place
To show the pies
And their bountiful goo
They came to think
That to integrate
It's best to play off
Of the truth
That cakes that have cream
Are living the dream
And they don't care
About pies or their goop
So the day began
With a subtle plan
To bring out cakes and pies
In groups
But they'll intercede
If they see a need
Or if integration
Disrupts the milieu

Mestuffstoplease knew the order of things
For he had more free time than he had deserved
While the Caker was caking
And the Chef was approving and planning
He helped on the floor and knew all the desserts
So when it came to decide
The pairing of the cakes and the pies *
They knew whose opinions
Would have the most worth
So they paid close attention
To the things that he would mention
And would make sure to consider
Everything that they've heard *

Once they're ready they'll sit together awhile
So they learn from each other's dessert
And then we'll roll them out in pairs
But with the cake positioned in first
For we can't roll them out in a bunch
That will not be the option that's safer
We'll want cake and pie to be of one mind
And not disturb our created familiar
And we won't pair just any
They'll be ones that share each other's flavor
So when they finally arrive
Cake will say "it's cool, pie's my guy"
And they'll all live happily ever after...
And their placing should make sense
For we don't want to insult their greaters
So stay away from the first aisles
At least just for a while
Until we upgrade to pie tiers
Or to pies that are known as great to savor
But I do have a caveat
Something that should be observed
Place each coordinated pair
Far away from the TVs
And far away from other angry desserts
And we will run damage control
Until cakes adapt to their newfound neighbors
And eventually pies will get a window scene
And we'll get happier and maybe some new customers

So where are we going to let these cakes sit
There's so much here that should not be understood
With pies getting filled and cakes getting battered
We could shock them into a state of horror

Of course we'll want these desserts to be themselves
Regardless of what else around them occurs
So to put them at ease
And so they can talk as they please
Perhaps a partitioned area
Where they can hear the pleasing sound of water

We can set up full-sheet pans near the sink
Perhaps enclosing a six by three on the counter
Just in case we want to integrate
More than a couple pies and cakes
And give them the space to show that they truly matter

Perhaps a TV placed strategically
Would give them a conversation piece
With Pie, Meets Cakery and all its kind words *

So the idea is to assimilate pie and cake
Before pie meets cakes in due turn

I really owe it to the Chef
For he taught me to give cakes a second look
Now I see they're more than just their pieces
I see they're holey and quite decent
And it's their composition that makes them so good
And while you've been busy in every season
Reading faithfully from your cookbook
I find my joys to be increasing
With every cake that I'm seeing
Getting to know your cakes
Is to know why they're worth all your efforts

I think they're delightful treats to work on

Of course we'll still place the cherry cake next to the cherry pie
But why not intermingle pastries of all different kinds
Not only could this negate negative sterotypes and conditioning
But it can also spread the idea of harmony with our jellied pies
And I figure that maybe eventually
We can jelly other select treats
Which will be great to destroy pastrial boundaries
And perhaps could facilitate a jelly-based income stream

I have been so absorbed with these cakes
It's amazing how much inter-cake drama can develop

And perhaps we can contact the creators of Pie, Meets Cakery *
And ask if they can do another segment piece
Perhaps one called Pie, Meets Cake and Other Pastry treats *
